YOUNG STARS
YOUNG STARS
In this piece I have compared the discovery of two young stars on the edge of the Milky Way with our young leaders.
Young people represent the future of their communities and cultures. They are both connected to something ancient and vast, like the stars to the universe, and the leaders to their ancestors and cultural heritage.
For Aboriginal people, stars are not just distant objects, but are integral to their dreaming, their stories, their deep spiritual connections, and are a means of navigation as well an indication of changing seasons and time.
Both are in a phase of growth and development and are part of something bigger than themselves, with the stars being part of the Milky Way and the leaders being part of a long line of ancestors and cultural tradition.
As the stars are forming, they begin to shine brighter just as our young leaders will as they learn, experience, connect and grow, bringing new energy, fresh perspectives and challenging the status quo, striving for a brighter future for all.
