The circle in the middle is a gathering place. The leaves in the middle of it represents bush medicine and the therapeutic effect being out on Country has. The u shapes are people, and the boomerangs represent always coming back to those special people and places.

The flowing pattern through the middle represents the Hopkins River that flows through to the sea.

The cream-coloured lines are journey lines, with the footprints alongside representing our connection to the river and the ocean.

The seals represent Sammy the seal and his friends who are regular visitors at the Warrnambool breakwater.

 The Little penguins represent the colony of penguins that call middle island their home.

 The Southern Wright whale that visits our shores every winter to give birth.

The stingray represents Stingray Bay just near Middle Island, renowned for stingrays.

The kangaroo and the echidna represent some of the native animals in our area.

 The Red-tailed black cockatoo feather is a totem for our Maar Nation (Gunditjmara) people and area.

The tree, the black boy plant and the patterned hill behind them, represent the layers of the land and the native flora.

The emu is found around Tower Hill and the Framlingham bush which are both culturally significant areas.

Bunjil the Wedge- tailed eagle is our Dreamtime creator spirit that created the people and the land.

The flowering gum represents the many types of flowering gums that adorn our landscapes.
