Greeting Card - Because of her, we can!

Inspired by the 2018 NAIDOC week theme Because of her, we can! This piece is about my Aboriginal Grandmother who passed away a month before I created this piece.
This is a poem that describes what everything in this piece represents. 
Like the Dreamtime, she creates life,
- she is powerful
Like Mother Nature, she beholds beauty, - she is healing. 
Like the tall tree standing strong, her roots the foundation to family, - she is strength
Like the wildflowers, she gives us the confidence to grow,
- she is guidance. 
Like a river, she flows through our veins
- she is connection
Like the bush foods, she nourishes our soul - she is nurturing. 
Like the rain, she showers us with her skills,
- she is knowledge
Like the seasons, the land and animals, she teaches us to adapt to change
- she is courage
Like the rays of the sun touching country,
- she is the light in our lives
Like the special people in our journeys, she leaves her footprint on our hearts - she is love
Because of her, we can!
